Overview

Kuakam Landowners Foundation Inc. (KLF) is a landowner-led non-profit aiming to protecting, conserving, and preserving the environment, plants, and animals of Mt. Goplom. We steward 4,200 hectares of pristine primary forest in the Bismarck Range, Jimi District, Jiwaka Province, Papua New Guinea.

KLF emerged from landowner alliances in Kuakam and neighboring communities to address threats to Mt. Goplom’s forests and wildlife. Building on traditional custodianship, KLF formalized governance structures to coordinate protection, mobilize resources, and partner with national and international stakeholders.

We dedicated to conserving the environment and preserving the rich biodiversity of Mt. Goplom and the Bismarck Range for future generations.

Our approach integrates science-based conservation with customary land rights, ensuring that biodiversity protection and community well-being, thus, moving forward together.
